F Class Target Rifle – A form of target rifle shooting, utilising a bolt action target rifle with telescopic sights and any centre fire cartrdige, up to the range’s approved limit of 8mm. Fired from the prone position at ranges of 300 to 1000 yards/metres, using a bipod and optional rear sandbag.
A match consists of two strings of fire, with each string being of 2 optional sighter rounds and 10 rounds to count.
Within F Class there are also two divisions, with the following basic characteristics:
- F Class Standard – Competitors utilise either a .223″ Remington or .308″ Winchester single shot bold action rifle, firing either an approved 69 or 80 grain projectile for the former, and a 155 grain projectile for the later calibre.
- F Class Open – Competitors are able to utilise any calibre rile (up to 8mm), with any weight projectile.
